We can't not get excited when the first Boreal Owl of the season shows up. They are a part of Whitefish Point that helps to make it such a special place. We're hoping that we are now at the high end of their natural cycle and that there will be many more to come this season. They have so much more attitude than Saw-whets, we love them. The Saw-whets have slowed to a steady trickle over the last few nights. Answering a question from a comment on an earlier post, most of the Saw-whets so far have been adult females. Nova is really bothering me right now, so I'm gonna go.

Hey Chris and Nova!
Good to hear Boreals are coming through. Hopefully a few will be around when I stop by this spring.
