So it has been a while since our last post, sorry about that. Spring Fling was a great weekend. Lots of wonderful people, great energy, and we heard that the workshops went very well. Our owl presentation had lots of attendees, and thanks very much to those of you who were so patient with the technical difficulties! Many thanks to the Shipwreck Museum folks for opening up the theatre on such short notice. Anyway, the owls have stayed very slow lately. A few nights ago we caught 10 saw-whets, which is the most in a couple of weeks. However, Whip-poor-wills are starting to appear. So far, we have captured 3 in the nets, which is quite unusual.

nice Whip-poor-will picture! my brother and i were up birding May 7-9 and one evening we were lucky enough to hear a Whip-poor-will calling. we also found a Long-eared Owl roosting in a white pine on the path behind/next to the hawk tower.
