Windy night

Things have picked up a bit the last two nights; 12 NSWO last night, nine the night before (plus a flying squirrel). Tonight is a bit slow. In fact you couldn't get any slower...none so far. It's pretty windy so we have the Saw-whet triangle closed which of course isn't helping things. Seems like it may be getting a little calmer out there though, so we may open back up. Season totals are; one LEOW, 40 new NSWO and one NSWO encounter. An encounter is an out of season recapture. In this case it was a HY bird banded by Chris and Nova this summer. Britta and I don't seem to be annoying each other overly much yet (guess I shouldn't speak for her) at least not anymore than normal (we've been together awhile). We're both really enjoying our first season of mist netting owls and are happy to be at the Point.--Tim
