This is the first blog entry of the fall owl season. So far, 2 Saw-whets and 1 Barred have been banded over three nights. Temperatures have been colder than usual (with a low of 4°C) and occasional wind has forced us to close a few nets closest to the beach.

We got our first surprise catch when a Whip-poor-will showed up in the early hours of the 17th.

Migration might not be in full swing, but the nights have been nice and a full moon lights the way. We're glad to be back at WPBO this fall and look forward to all the surprises yet to come!

It's great to see you've started your blog and the fall season has begun. See you in a couple of weeks! (Cool Whip-poor-will!)
