The owl migration has really slowed to a trickle, the recent weather has not helped our efforts. However, we did catch 5 juvenile Saw-whets last night, the 5th being our 600th Saw-whet of the season. We also had a couple random visitors at the bird feeders tonight; 2 Northern Flying Squirrels and a Deer. As the migration has all but stopped over the past week we will likely be shutting down the summer owl banding in the next night or two. Look for our final update on the summer program in the next couple of days. The fall owl banding season starts in just a few weeks, September 15th.
