Hello Owlers -

Boreals and Saw-whets continue to be banded at the point. Strong wind hampered efforts last night, but at least one Boreal had been captured five nights in a row before that. Tuesday was the big night recently with 3 Saw-whets and 1 Boreal banded. Interestingly, they were all captured within an hour of each other during a shift in wind direction over the bay.

Only two more nights this fall to see Chris's evening program! Enjoy amazing photos and one-of-a-kind stories about the owls of Whitefish Point and our research. 8pm at the gift shop Oct 25th and 28th.

Unfortunately we've had no additional reports of the Great Gray Owl mentioned in the "sightings" blog on the 18th. We can only hope its presence was a hint of more to come.
